The next book club sponsored by the Utah Library for the Blind and Print Disabled will be on Tuesday, July 13, from 2 pm – 3 pm (Mountain Time).
We will discuss 2 books at the meeting.
The Return by Nicholas Sparks
When he is sent home from Afghanistan with devastating injuries, the dilapidated cabin Trevor Benson inherited from his grandfather seemed a good place to regroup. Trevor feels a connection with local deputy sheriff Natalie Masterson. Some descriptions of sex. Commercial audiobook. Bestseller. 2020.
Summerlost by Allyson Braithwaite Condie
Following the sudden deaths of her father and her autistic younger brother, Ben, Cedar spends the summer working at a Shakespearean theater festival, makes a new friend, and comes to terms with her grief. Commercial audiobook. For grades 5-8. 2016. Don’t let the fact that it is a book for middle grades put you off. This is an excellent book!
Summerlost is the second selection for the One Book, One Utah reading initiative. Allyson Condie is a local Utah author and will be hosting a virtual meeting about the book in late August.
